The demands placed on the equine athlete are ever increasing. As in human athletics, we constantly strive for better performance. Many horses on rodeo/show circuit travel considerable distances, after which they are asked to perform difficult, strenuous athletic movements. Often the environment (facilities, weather, time, etc.) limits the feasibility of an ideal warm-up and stretching session prior to competition as well as an ideal cool-down session. The combinations of events at competitions often lead to various musculoskeletal ailments that require diagnosis and therapy before the horse can continue competing. In most situations there are no treatment facilities on the grounds, leaving treatment to lay people and owners with limited veterinary care options.

CSR Equine Sports Medicine Team will be providing cutting-edge technology at major equestrian events in the western United States. A new 48-foot long, custom-designed Sundowner trailer is the physical platform for this clinic. This well-ventilated, climate-controlled area is available for working on the equine athlete in privacy and comfort for both the horse and client. This mobile sports medicine unit is equipped with essentially everything you would find in a regular veterinary clinic.
